Meal Delivery Service and FAQ
Welcome to Beyond Paleo! I’m Millie Barnes, a Chef and Nutrition Coach, I cook and teach a Pescatarian Diet; no processed foods, plenty of organic vegetables, non-gluten grains, legumes, fruits, nuts and seeds with no gluten, soy or dairy. The focus is on a way of eating that truly meets all of your nutrient needs.
I consider the style of Nutrition that I teach and cook to Pescatarian/Green Mediterranean. I take components of each but use my 40 years of research in health, nutrition and experience to put together a way of eating that let’s you heal, prevent disease through truly meeting your nutrient needs. I believe that a diet based on high quality abundant amounts of fruits and vegetables, healthy fats and moderate amounts of protein.
I believe the healthiest diets provide all of our nutrient needs, when that occurs we do not gain weight. The key is nutrient density, NOT caloric restriction to try to lose weight as that restricts nutrients. And that leaves you malnourished. You need an abundance of vegetables, a moderate amount of protein and fats.
There are a lot of meal delivery services out there.I do jnot use disposable containers. My delivery service uses high quality plastic ware that is BPA free. I pick up the containers from the time before when I deliver the meals and the containers go back and forth between us. This way there is no waste. I tried glass and it’s just too heavy for me to deal with with the food in it and the cost is prohibitive. But I do the best I can to keep a very low carbon footprint including using organic ingredients, shopping in bulk when I can and composting food waste.
Menus are emailed to you each week on Sunday, orders are due no later than 4:00 PM on Wednesday afternoon for the following weeks order. Orders cannot be cancelled after noon on Thursdays.

How large are the portions?
Portions are generous. Most people with a normal appetite get 2 servings from each dish.
What areas of town do you deliver to?
I deliver free to Riverside, Avondale, Murray Hill, and Ortega and as far as
Timiquana Rd just past Ortega. There is no minimum for pickup. I deliver to San
Marco, and Lakewood.
How do I order?
Menus run a week behind. I send the menus out each Sunday by email, they are due back by Wednesday afternoon for the NEXT week’s order, which will be delivered either Tuesday and/or Friday. You will see that the orders form is divided in to two sections, Tuesday and Friday. Underneath the sections there are add-ons. These items are always on the menu. I cannot always guarantee a Tuesday delivery on add-ons. There will be times that these items will be delivered on Friday unless you specify that you have to have them on Tuesday and I will let you know by return email.
How do I pay each week?
Payment is made at the time the order is placed; please email me your credit card info when your first order is placed and I will keep it on file for all orders. You may email be part of it and text the rest for security purposes (text to 904-520-3448). Please provide the following info;
Credit Card number
3 or 4 Digit Security Code (on front of Amex, back of card for all others)
Zip Code associated with that card.
Do I have to order each week or sign a contract?
No, there is no contract. Order when you want, I have many clients that travel or have varying work schedules, so you can be very flexible. Feel free to try the service and see if it works for you! You will be amazed at how quickly you begin to feel better by eating healthier meals!
Is there a delivery fee?
Yes, for me to deliver to you there is a $50. minimum order PER DELIVERY. That means you would need to order $50. of food for Tuesday and $50. for Friday. . If you pick
up there is no minimum.
How do I get the menus?

What if I need to cancel an order?
Orders CANNOT be cancelled any later than noon on Friday. This is when I put the orders together
What days can I get a delivery?
I deliver each Tuesday and Friday. Delivery is generally between 10:30 and 1:00. I need to pick up the containers from the previous delivery. As I only offer contactless delivery at this point and the options are to set out a cooler with freezer packs or you can set out the containers for the previous delivery and I will ring the doorbell so you can get the meals. If you have a refrigerator in your garage you may provide me with the code or a garage opener.
What containers do you deliver in?
I use Glad Freezer containers that are BPA free. There is a onetime container fee; $30.00 (for Glad containers; one to deliver in, one for me to pick up each delivery). Containers MUST be returned at each delivery, or I have to buy more containers for you. Containers from each delivery must come back to me clean and dry. Please do not put lids on, stack them please. This allows the food and soap odor to dissipate.
There is a $15.00 cleaning fee if your containers come back dirty.
What if I haven’t eaten all of the meals you have delivered, how do I return containers?
You will need to place the remaining food in your own containers as these are me to deliver the meals in. Or you can purchase a second set so there is back-up. I order three full sets but sometimes use more of the big ones on each delivery. For instance if you order a salad it will be in one of the larger containers.
