Deep Dish Frittata_thumb[1]Deep Dish Breakfast Frittata-  serves 8  –   People often complain that they get sick of eggs every day for breakfast.  I personally cannot relate- I can eat eggs any time, any way!  Scrambled, poached, fried, in egg drop soup,  French toast, deviled, boiled..  But an all time favorite of mine is the breakfast frittata. I make them in a spring form pan, make them very deep dished with plenty of veggies…and have breakfast already made for several days!   With a serving of fruit or coconut milk yogurt..they are a perfect breakfast!

Jamu Kunyit,a Balinese-style Turmeric Juice with Tamarind-

Turmeric’s anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor properties combined with the depth of anti-0xidents in this drink make it an ideal medicinal drink.  But the TASTE is amazingly refreshing!  I simmer the organic turmeric root at 120 for several hours to maintain the enzymes, then add organic tamarind and continue steeping, as it cools slightly I add raw honey, lime zest and fresh lime juice. Kunyit Asam Jamu is recommended for enhancing detoxification and preventing disease. It is common in Indonesia to consume this with the addition of an egg yolk, which has been shown to further enhance the bioavailability of the active ingredient Curcumin.

Most Americans have a compromised Immune System. Most also have leaky gut. If you have allergies, get frequent colds, ear infections, are overweight, have have leaky gut.  Healing a leaky gut means following a nutritional protocol to enable it to heal.  Replenishing gut bacteria is crucial; to heal the lining of the stomach, to properly digest foods so that you can actually absorb the nutrients…in order to repair the immune system and enjoy optimal health. One way to do this is to take probiotics, but they are very pricy and do not really survive the stomach acids to get into the colon where they will do you the most good.  So what should you do?

Eat fermented foods!  Sauerkraut, wine, pickles, coconut milk yogurt (you should avoid dairy in all forms for optimal health), and Kombucha tea are great ways to do this.

I began fermenting Kombucha tea about a year ago, it is easy and fun to make…and is very inexpensive.  I also now make my own organic Apple Cider Vinegar.

Skin Care and Products

washing faceOrganic Skin Cleanser- About 6 years ago my daughter became an Esthetician and as we were talking about skin care we both realized that we each had never found a perfect cleanser for use on our face.  Many of the cleansers contained chemicals, especially parabans, that we were unwilling to put on our skin. I set out to create a cleanser that was food grade, all organic, that didn’t dry out my face or irritate her sensitive skin, but also cleaned effectively.  I have a background in studying herbs and formulating so I began experimenting.  I wanted it to clean, exfoliate and not dry my skin.  I did it!  8 months later I had a cleanser we were thrilled with and I began selling it.

Ingredients; honey (a humectant), baking soda (a fruit acid similar to glycolic acids and an great exfoliate), almond oil, rose oil, lavender water (which I distill from organic lavender flowers), salicylic acid (from willow bark), vegetable glycerin, and a very small amount of organic castile soap.  I also use it as a base for a mask; with extra baking soda it will help fade dark spots on the face.

12 ounces-   $24.00

  1. I am suffering from pleomorphic Rabdomyo sarcoma, very rare in female of 72 years in extremely good health. Began in muscle outside uterus; hysterectomy in March; cancer-free March 30. 6 weeks of daily radiation – and by August 6, was in both lungs; 2 weeks later had doubled in size. Am 3/4 way through chemo (“Big Red”); tumors shrinking, but disease is still terminal – or so they say. I’m a patient of Dr. Attia, Mayo, with consulting MD’s at m.d. anderson and Memorial Sloan-Kettering. Have read that turmeric can be instrumental RE: tumor growth in combination with traditional treatments – and I’ve nothing to loose!
